new adventures

erik found his nostrils last night. he has been very busy this summer as has the rest of the family. let's see... a quick update.
bryce has become quite the ultra-marathoner. in addition to the races i've already mentioned on here, he's done the logan peak race and the speedgoat 50k at snowbird. it's hard to put into words the "awe" i have for him for putting himself through these events. it's really tested him mentally and physically, but i guess those post-race endorphins are worth it!
it's been so great having christian this summer. he's been doing swim team, scouts, art classes and camp grandma in the last several weeks. his bedroom is also getting a much needed makeover this week which we hope to have finished here in a few days (pictures to come).
besides finding his nostrils, erik is growing by leaps and bounds. he has maintained his "big boy" status at his 15 month appt with a whopping 98% in his weight/height/head ratios. that's sort of boring info unless you're one of the grandmas reading this. erik is climbing everything and commenting with a "yes" or "no" when asked questions - he doesn't know which goes when however. now that he's sleeping through the night, we have more liberty to do so much more during the day like going to the pool, playing for hours in the backyard, etc.
what have i been up to? not taking enough pictures for sure. i've been back on my bike a little bit here and there. doing a bit of running in the mornings and a lot of running around the house catching erik from damaging himself. :) three of my roommates + families from my 2nd year of school all got together the other night. candace and fam were visiting from dallas. it was a blast to catch up and reminisce about rexburg -such amazing women. i did the echo tri a few weeks ago and a sprint tri in logan last weekend. really fun, i love those and hope to do a few more this summer.
this weekend we're loading up the wagon for an adventure in red fish lake in idaho near sun valley. i think a few of you have been up that way. let me know if they have a store that sells coke please. we're excited to hang out with some friends and enjoy the tall pines and cool mountain air. we hope you all are doing well and enjoy your weekend!

Love the pic. I hardly noticed the finger up the nostril because I don't think I knew Erik had such pretty brown eyes. He's a cutie, booger finger and all.
Ahhh, Redfish Lake. I have so many fond memories of that place. It really is one of the most beautiful places on Earth! Even with global warming and all, I hear the water is still freezing cold! I learned to water ski there and I swear I took me an hour to warm up after getting out. PS I'm sure the general store might have a coke or two. Don't know if it'll be cold though. Just stick it in the lake. Sorry, long comment. Have fun.
