we made it back to snowy utah yesterday after a great trip in kauai. i appreciate the pace of life there so much. things just tend to slow down a bit - i need that. kauai is such a special place for the two of us. many of our dreams began there and it's fun to be back and look back to see where we are these days. easter sunday was a beautiful day. we went to church at my old ward and felt the spirit strong with the beautiful easter messages and music. we also got to celebrate erik's first birthday on the 8th. there wasn't any cake, but he ate enough sand-cakes to fill him up. (bday celebration in a few weeks still) he also is walking which lead to fun times chasing around the kauai chickens. christian just loved the water. whether it was the pool or ocean, he was always splashing around making up games to pass the time. the waves were calling bryce's name. he got in some much-needed-much-deserved surfing. seeing him sitting out there in the green-blue water, i could almost see the burdens wash away in the waves. i'm so grateful for how hard he works for our family and the fun surprise this was. it was also nice to have bryce's mom and step-dad there along with craig's daughter and hubby. all in all, it was a fun trip that went by way too fast. i'm ready to go back and have my breakfast of macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup.

What fun for all of you.
Love watching Erik the beach bum.
He looks so totally at home in the sand and on the surfboard!

I love Kauai, we went with my parents about 3 years ago. I'm glad your Easter was so wonderful, I can't think of a better place to spend it!
What a fun surprise! I don't think I could ever get tired of listening to those ocean waves.
